Will I make it?

How long can we wait before our dreams can be reach by our fingertips? This is such a perplexing and thought provoking question that prompts a deep reflection on our patience asn how long can we really wait. Ever since I can remember, I am a woman who was sculpted to always think practically–dream practically, this was embroided to my mind for a particular reason: the world does not bend for wishful thinking, it bends for those who carve their visions into reality. It is the art of turning fire into fuel, not smoke.  Life has taught me that ambition is not just about dreaming, but about turning those dreams into reality. My ambition is to become a doctor, specifically an OB-GYN, because I want to dedicate my life to saving babies and protecting mothers. This dream was born from a very personal experience—my mother once shared with me that she had a miscarriage, and later I saw a video of a dying newborn baby. Those moments awakened in me a deep desire to make sure no mother or chil...

Extras of Valentine

Image
Valentine’s Day this year was extra special because it coincided with Card Day. I felt grateful as I received my grades, which turned out to be decent. It was a reminder that love for learning and perseverance pays off, making the day even more meaningful.    What made the celebration brighter was the exchange of flowers and chocolates among friends. My girlfriends and boyfriends surprised me with these sweet gestures, proving that Valentine’s Day is not only about romance but also about strengthening friendships. These small acts of kindness showed how bonds can grow stronger during special occasions. Later, my OG’s gathered, where we enjoyed a fun photobooth session. We laughed at our silly poses and treasured the candid shots that captured our joy. Those photos became instant keepsakes, reminding us that Valentine’s Day is best spent with people who make us feel loved and appreciated. This Valentine’s Day was not just about gifts or grades—it was about gratitude, friendship...

Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival: A bond to remember

Image
On February 12, I had the privilege of joining my friends at the Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival, a celebration that brought together music, culture, and community pride. The night was filled with unforgettable performances from Fitterkarma, Yeng Constantino, Earl Agustin, Arthur Nery, and Adie. Each artist sang songs that resonated deeply with us, filling our hearts and minds with emotions we could all relate to.      Beyond the music, the festival showcased the richness of Ilocos Sur through its grand food fair. Each municipality proudly presented their OTOP (One Town, One Product), highlighting the creativity and resourcefulness of local communities. Walking through the booths felt like a journey across the province, discovering flavors and crafts unique to each town.      My favorite stop was the booth of the Schools Division Office (SDO), where they offered their limited edition squash ice cream. It was not only tasty but also nutritiou...

Travel Blog: A Legacy to Remember; Fiesta of the Conversion of St. Paul in Vigan

Image
“Apo San Pablo, Agyaman kami kadagiti bendisyon ken parabor a dimteng iti biag mi. ikararag mi iti naragsak a panang celebrar mi iti Fiesta ni Apo San Pablo.” This heartfelt line, recited by a child before the evening showdown of the Fiesta of the Conversion of St. Paul, set the tone for the celebration. Hearing it gave me goosebumps and have sent chills down my spine, as if I were time-traveling into Vigan’s colorful and rich cultural legacy. In that moment, I felt deeply connected to the faith, traditions, and vibrant spirit that make the Heritage City of Vigan truly special. The Heritage City of Vigan is celebrated for its rich culture, Spanish colonial architecture, and vibrant traditions. Every January, Bigueños honor the Fiesta of the Conversion of St. Paul , a grand event filled with parades, competitions, dances, and food festivals. This year, I had the chance to witness the celebration, and it was truly unforgettable. The streets overflowed with locals and visitors enjoy...

Rizal’s Legacy: The True Face of the Nation

Image
"Who is your revolutionary hero?" Others may answer, Andres Bonifacio or Heneral Luna. But one person will always come first in my mind. Someone who didn't used aggressiveness, someone who used paper and pen to awake the spirit of revolutionary. He is  Jose Rizal, a widely regarded as the national hero of the Philippines, a man whose intellect, courage, and writings ignited the spirit of nationalism among Filipinos during the Spanish colonial era. His novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo exposed the injustices and abuses of the Spanish regime, inspiring Filipinos to fight for freedom and equality. Rizal’s vision of a free and dignified nation made him the symbolic face of the Philippines, representing the ideals of liberty, education, and reform. Beyond his literary contributions, Rizal was also a physician, linguist, and reformist who believed in peaceful change through education and civic responsibility. His life demonstrated that true patriotism is not only a...

So far, I’ve cope with.

This quarter, I discovered the importance of community-based research methodology—from creating a community profile, writing the background of the study, and analyzing data to forming conclusions and recommendations. I learned how these parts connect like puzzle pieces, each one necessary to understand the bigger picture of our community’s livelihood and challenges. I also gained technical skills in using HTML frames, tables, and lists to present information in a structured way, which made my outputs more organized and visually engaging. These discoveries taught me that research is not just about gathering facts, but also about presenting them clearly and meaningfully. One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my time between academics and extracurricular activities. Because of my involvement in school clubs and community projects, I sometimes missed lessons and had to catch up quickly. Another challenge was learning how to properly apply HTML concepts like frames and table...
