Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival: A bond to remember

On February 12, I had the privilege of joining my friends at the Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival, a celebration that brought together music, culture, and community pride. The night was filled with unforgettable performances from Fitterkarma, Yeng Constantino, Earl Agustin, Arthur Nery, and Adie. Each artist sang songs that resonated deeply with us, filling our hearts and minds with emotions we could all relate to.

Beyond the music, the festival showcased the richness of Ilocos Sur through its grand food fair. Each municipality proudly presented their OTOP (One Town, One Product), highlighting the creativity and resourcefulness of local communities. Walking through the booths felt like a journey across the province, discovering flavors and crafts unique to each town.

My favorite stop was the booth of the Schools Division Office (SDO), where they offered their limited edition squash ice cream. It was not only tasty but also nutritious, proving that innovation can turn simple local produce into something extraordinary. This creative twist showed how Ilocanos can transform tradition into modern delights, making the festival both fun and meaningful.

The Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival reminded me that culture is best celebrated when shared. From music that speaks to our emotions to food that reflects our heritage, the event was a testament to the unity and creativity of the Ilocano people
