My Second Quarter Reflection

This quarter deepened my understanding of HTML. I learned how to use HTML tags—both container and stand-alone—along with attributes that control background images, font colors, and styles. I discovered how to insert images and hyperlinks, which made my web pages more interactive and visually appealing. Using Notepad as our coding tool taught me the importance of precision and structure in programming. These discoveries opened my eyes to how websites are built and gave me a solid foundation for future ICT projects.

However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. I often found myself confused by the syntax of certain tags and struggled to remember which attributes belonged where. Mistakes in punctuation or forgetting to close a tag would break my code, and it was frustrating to troubleshoot without knowing exactly what went wrong. There were moments when I felt stuck and unsure if I was progressing, especially when my output didn’t match the expected result.

To overcome these challenges, I leaned into patience, practice, and collaboration. I reviewed lessons, retyped examples, and used trial and error to understand how each tag worked. I also asked classmates and teachers for help, which gave me new insights and made learning more enjoyable. Online resources like W3Schools and YouTube tutorials were incredibly helpful in clarifying concepts and showing real-time demonstrations. Slowly but surely, I began to see improvement in my coding and gained confidence in my ability to solve problems.

Moving forward, I will continue to explore ICT with curiosity and determination. I want to learn CSS and JavaScript next, so I can design more dynamic and responsive websites. I also hope to use my skills to create projects that reflect my community and culture, perhaps a webpage that honors local farmers or showcases traditional crafts. ICT is more than just coding; it’s a tool for storytelling, creativity, and impact. I’m excited to keep learning and to use technology to express ideas that matter.
