Image
September is National Clean Up Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 244, while World Clean and Green Week is observed from September 17 to 23 every year. The Clean and Green campaign aims to protect and care for the environment by engaging the community in leading an environmentally conscious lifestyle. Natural phenomena can sometimes strike very hard and cause disasters if preventive measures have not been taken or if some human activities have harmed the natural environment or upset the balance of the ecosystem. Here are some ways we can help in reducing pollution, and protect and care for our home, the earth.  By participating in your barangay’s various programs to protect our society, this includes: the participation on the YCAP (Youth Civic Action Program) Clean-Up Drive, ARBOR Day, Operation Taob, and Operation Linis that was implemented by our club, the Interact Club.  CLEAN UP DRIVE (YCAP)    ...

My First Quarter Reflection

The first quarter of Grade 10 has been a rollercoaster. It was tiring, stressful, and sometimes confusing—but it also helped me grow. I met many different people: classmates with different personalities, teachers with different styles, and students with different dreams. It wasn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that all of this is part of life. Every experience has a reason, and every challenge teaches us something.                This quarter, I learned many new things that I didn’t know before. My knowledge grew, and I was able to understand topics that used to confuse me. Particularly, in ICT 10, I discovered a lot about the internet. I learned about: The timeline of the internet—how it started and how it grew over time, the first email ever sent and when the word “internet” was first used, the history of the internet in the Philippines, and the people who helped build it, differ...

Growing Grass: A Surviving Warrior

Image
Growing Grass in Between Bricks Pain equals life. A newborn's first cry indicates that it is alive. And from that moment, pain becomes a paradox. Just as a newborn cries to begin a life, we, too, feel pain in order for us to know that we are still alive—and surviving; and surviving can be compared to a growing grass in between bricks were a person, they would be the strongest — small, overlooked, but unstoppable. You’d find them not in the spotlight, but in the cracks of life, where most have given up. Yet there they are — thriving, surviving, and desperate to live.            Why growing grass? Growing grass symbolises me. I am that one, the one that even when life has putted burdens and challenges, which is the bricks, that may hinder my growth, I always emdure it, find a way to grow, find where I truly belong, stand up, brace my surroundings, and let my voice out. Ever since I can remember I always compare mys...
